Ja Solar Technology and China can build Africa's largest photovoltaic power generation project

06-01-2023

Ja Technologies has entered into a partnership with AMEA Power, one of the largest developers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to provide integrated solutions for its gigawatt Landscape energy projects with a consortium consisting of China Neng Construction Group, Neng Construction International Group and Zhejiang Thermal Power.

Among them, the Kom Ombo Abydos photovoltaic project in Egypt has a scale of 560MW, which will be the largest single photovoltaic power generation project in Africa upon completion. Ja Technologies will supply all DeepBlue 3.0 Pro high efficiency components for the project. The project started in January 2023 and is expected to be completed within 19 months.

energy projects

The Kom Ombo Abydos PV project in Egypt is being developed, owned and operated by AMEA Power with financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Netherlands Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO). Upon completion, the project will provide clean electricity to nearly 1 million Egyptian residents, bringing tangible benefits to local residents through the application of new photovoltaic energy.

The DeepBlue 3.0 Pro component selected for the project uses the zero-pitch flexible interconnection technology (GFI) owned by JA Ao with independent intellectual property rights. The component conversion efficiency is as high as 21.7%, which has outstanding advantages such as higher conversion efficiency, excellent power generation capacity and high reliability, and can perfectly balance quality, efficiency and cost. To provide customers with the optimal kilowatt-hour cost, for the photovoltaic power station in the life cycle of stable power output escort.

At present, traditional fossil fuels are still a major part of Egypt's energy system, accounting for up to 90%. Under the global trend of carbon neutrality, Egypt has actively promoted the development and application of new energy sources and set the goal of increasing the electricity supply from renewable sources to 42% by 2035. Photovoltaic as the main force of new energy, the market development space is huge. In November 2022, Egypt hosted the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27). As a green energy manufacturing enterprise, JA Technology actively participated in related activities of the conference, and continued to practice the sustainable development model of "jointly building green cycle, seeking green development and creating a green future".

single photovoltaic power generation project

Yang Aiqing, director and rotating president of JA Technology, said that since its establishment, JA Technology has established the corporate mission of "developing solar energy for the benefit of all mankind", continuously promoting the development of photovoltaic technology and boosting the promotion and application of photovoltaic in the global scope.

It is a great honor to participate in the construction of Kom Ombo Abydos project. Together with many partners, the development and application of PV green electricity will benefit local residents. Africa has a low power reach rate, but has rich light resources, with unique superior conditions for the development of photovoltaic.

Ja Solar has been actively promoting the development of the photovoltaic market in Africa, including Egypt, to make efficient and reliable green electricity available to more people. Ja Ao will continue to pay attention to and promote the development of photovoltaic technology in the future, so that the development of photovoltaic new energy can truly benefit thousands of households!
