Specifications of EVA film is used for solar cell

Photovoltaic cell encapsulation film (EVA) is a thermosetting adhesive film that is used in the middle of laminated glass (EVA is the abbreviation of Ethylene Vinyl Vinyl Acetate Acetate). Due to the superiority of EVA film in adhesion, durability, optical properties, etc., it is more and more widely used in current components and various optical products.


The advantages of photovoltaic EVA film

1. High transparency and high adhesion can be applied to various interfaces, including glass, metal and plastics such as PET.

2. Good durability can resist high temperature, moisture, ultraviolet rays and so on.

3. Easy to store. Stored at room temperature, the adhesion of EVA is not affected by humidity and absorbent films.

4. Compared with PVB, it has stronger sound insulation effect, especially for high frequency sound effects.

5. Low melting point, easy to flow, suitable for laminating process of various glass, such as solar patterned glass, solar tempered glass, curved glass and so on.

 The function of the adhesive film in the photovoltaic module is to stick the photovoltaic glass, the cell and the backsheet together, and at the same time, it plays the role of protecting the cell and isolating the air. The cost of the module is 3%-4%.

The types of photovoltaic film include EVA film and POE film. EVA film includes traditional transparent EVA film, white EVA film and others (such as anti-PID film, etc.), POE film including cross-linked, thermoplastic, white, co-extrusion and other types. Among them, EVA photovoltaic film occupies more than 80% of the market and is a well-deserved mainstream product.


So, how is EVA film produced? Below we will briefly introduce the production process of EVA film and some pictures for your reference:

1.The compounded raw materials are added to the high-speed mixer and mixed evenly to obtain EVA compound materials:

2.The EVA compound material is first sucked into the hopper of the twin-screw extruder through the suction machine, and then mixed, plasticized, melted and extruded in the twin-screw according to a certain extrusion process.

3. According to a certain process, the extruded EVA film is cast, cooled and formed, then cutting and divided in different width.

4. Pull the formed film, wrap film and rolling finished :

5.For packaging, we choose vacuum-packed aluminum foil to extend the storage time of EVA and extend the warranty period from 6 months to 1 year or more.
